Backpackers Inn sits on Jogiwara Road, McLeod Ganj — 500 metres from the Dalai Lama Temple, ten minutes from the Triund trek trailhead, and three flights above the road on a hillside that faces the Dhauladhar range head-on. The rooftop kitchen runs Indian, Tibetan, and Continental through the day. Evenings end around a bonfire on the terrace with whoever else happens to show up. The masala chai has a reputation of its own.
